Nine Notorious Thieves Arrested in Major Joint Operation by Baddoopur Police and Surveillance Unit

A joint operation by Baddoopur police and the surveillance team in Barabanki has led to the arrest of nine suspected thieves, including a gang leader already wanted in another case. Cash, jewellery, a pickup vehicle, and an illegal firearm were seized as police continue probing the group’s wider criminal network.

In Barabanki, a coordinated crackdown by the Baddoopur police station team and the district surveillance unit led to the arrest of nine individuals allegedly involved in a string of thefts across the region. The operation, conducted after a sustained investigation into recurring burglary cases, resulted in the recovery of cash, jewellery, a pickup vehicle, and an illegal country-made firearm from the suspects’ possession.

According to police officials, the group had been operating as a well-organized criminal network that also targeted high-value livestock in the area. Among those apprehended is the alleged ringleader of the gang, who was already facing charges registered at the Safdarganj police station in an earlier case. Authorities stated that the arrests mark a significant step toward dismantling the gang’s ongoing criminal activities.

Investigators are now expanding their probe into the broader network linked to the accused. Police confirmed that efforts are underway to identify and trace additional collaborators who may have supported or participated in the thefts, with further arrests expected as the inquiry progresses.

The successful operation underscores the growing coordination between local police units and surveillance teams, demonstrating strengthened crime-control efforts in the district. Law enforcement officials noted that the crackdown not only brings relief to residents affected by repeated thefts but also signals a continued commitment to curbing organized criminal activity in the region.
